We stand up for children and help to inform communities and decision-makers about children’s rights. We encourage children and young persons to actively take part in the decision-making processes that affect their lives and speak up for themselves.
We advocate for measures to prevent the loss of parental care and the development, implementation and monitoring of alternative care quality standards. This includes appropriate support for gatekeeping, reintegration, social workforce development and the leaving care process. Our advocacy draws on evidence gained through programmes in alternative care and family strengthening to guide policy dialogues and decision-making.We work in partnership with governments, communities and relevant stakeholders to build capacity to fulfil the provisions of the international and continental policy instruments. We support efforts to ensure that the children are supported, protected, and provided with quality care while their rights are fully recognised and respected.
